Abel Ferreira’s Palmeiras was eliminated this Sunday in the semifinal of the Club World Championship, after losing at Al Rayyan, in Qatar, to Tigres 1-0.

The Mexicans entered the game much better and, during the first half, the great figure was goalkeeper Weverton, with three great saves: in minute 3, responding to a header from Paraguayan Carlos González, in minute 33, after a cross shot from André. -Pierre Gignac and, three minutes later, again against the former French international, now with his head.

The goal of the Mexicans came from a penalty in the 54th minute, punishing the lack of Carlos González by Luan. Gignac did not spare the 11 meters.

Palmeiras reacted, and Luiz Adriano had two good chances, but the best he could do was almost force a defender against an own goal, with the ball passing very close to the left post at the base of Argentine Nahuel Guzmán.

The Germans from Bayern will face the Egyptians from Al-Ahly tomorrow in the other semi-final.
