The Brazilian midfielder Eduardo does not enter Rúben Amorim’s accounts and goes to Crotone, assigned with an option to buy 4 million. Official departure this Thursday.

The “exit operation” always generates traffic jams at the beginning of each season and, in the current one, with nine professional athletes already established, SAD still has many cases to solve, preferably outside the club. This Thursday, those responsible for the Leonese market saw another exit, the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Eduardo for a year to Crotone, with an option to buy € 4 million. But there are many more names on the waiting list …

Not even with the main team, B and U-23, SAD can sell so much athlete with professional connection to the club. Some of them, due to their trajectory and age experience, are already at a higher level than the two secondary teams, and without having space in Rúben Amorim’s squad … they become a problem. So SAD has yet to find a place for another 17 players, not considering João Palhinha, who, if not sold in the desired range of 15 million euros, has room in the main squad, where he has even started to peek.

“Sports are not about sales. We are a sales club, buyers know the price. People talk a lot about devaluation, whether they stay or not, but I don’t see any devalued assets,” said SAD administrator Francisco Salgado Zenha , in an interview with Antena 1.

Acuña is the most valuable asset of the large number of players to trade, but the list also includes Rosier, Rafael Camacho, Doumbia, Mattheus Oliveira, Leonardo Ruiz, Pedro Mendes, Ivanildo Fernandes, Lumor, Diaby, Ilori, Bruno Gaspar, Miguel Luís, Bruno Paulista, Chaby, Elves Baldé and Pedro Marques.

The most desired solution is to sell and, alternatively, loans with an option to buy are the most viable businesses, such as Eduardo’s. But when there is no other solution, SAD negotiates layoffs trying to keep part of the pass. In 2019/20, greens and whites paid € 7.1 million in damages.
