Have you heard of the Dark Web? The Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) dismantled an international network of document falsification in Lisbon that culminated in the arrest of two people.

According to this security service, the detainees used the “dark Internet” to sell documents.

According to information from the SEF, the two foreign citizens are suspected of the crimes of falsification and falsification of thousands of documents and other computer crimes.

The investigation, which took place in the past two years, ended "a complex and stealthy international network that used the Dark Web to sell various types of identification documents, including Portuguese passports, from various European, American and Arab countries."

The operation, called 'Fewas' and carried out in Lisbon, had the collaboration of Europol and Interpol.

Currently (almost) everything is on the Dark Web. This uncontrolled space is the ideal place to buy or sell information, often obtained illegally and that can be used for illicit purposes.

The Judicial Police clarifies that people who eventually intend to buy illegal products on the Dark Web they are at high risk and can, with great probability, become victims of various illegal activities.

What happens to these people when, in the comfort of their homes, they place a purchase order on their computer?

  • Exposing sensitive personal data to unknown third parties, including criminals;
  • They expose their devices (computers, tablets, phones, etc.) to the most diverse types of malicious software;
  • They may receive counterfeit products or absolutely nothing, drugs that can kill, faulty weapons, or various types of cybercrime services that will harm them at home, after payment is made.
