Ronaldo out of UEFA Player of the Year finalists

Cristiano Ronaldo was left out of the top three finalists for the UEFA Player of the Year award. The Portuguese striker was the 10th most voted, with 25 votes, in an election based on the choice of 80 coaches who participated in the Champions League and Europa League group stages, as well as 55 journalists chosen by European Sports. As for the award for the best goalkeeper in 2020, the finalists are Keylor Navas (PSG), Manuel Neuer (Bayern) and Jan Oblak (Atlético de Madrid); the defender of the year has as candidates David Alaba, Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich, all from Bayern Munich; the midfielder of the year award will go to Kevin De Bruyne, Thomas Müller or Thiago Alcântara; while Lewandowski, Mbappé and Neymar fight for the best striker award.
