Sony raises revenue forecasts.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has updated the number of PS4 consoles sold worldwide and increased its sales and revenue forecast for the current fiscal year.

As of September 30, 2020, more than 113.8 million consoles were shipped to stores around the world, an impressive number, but showing a decline in current-generation console sales.

Between July and September 2020, 1.5 million PS4 consoles were shipped to stores, a decrease of 1.3 million from the number recorded in the same period during the previous fiscal year.

However, with the imminent launch of the PS5, Sony has revised its forecasts and estimates that it will be able to generate more money.

The forecast of 20,000 million euros accumulated in sales has increased to 22,000 million euros, while the forecast of operating income has gone from 1,900 million to 2,444 million euros.

These figures refer to the PlayStation division and the current fiscal year, ending March 31, 2021.
