The 46-year-old man who died after a truck fell into a ravine last Friday in Arcos de Valdevez will be buried this Tuesday in Bravães, Ponte da Barca, where he was born.

The parish is shocked by the death of José António da Silva Abreu, a native and resident of Bravães, and much loved by the community, with emphasis on his great participation in the local associative movement.

Entrepreneur, he had been president of the Cultural and Sports Association “Os Canários de Bravães”, he was a member of several parish commissions of parties, currently he was part of the board of the Rancho Folclórica de Bravães and was one of the pioneers, as an actor, of the representation of the Passion of Christ. , which takes place annually in that parish for more than two decades.

José Abreu’s funeral takes place this Tuesday, at 3:00 p.m., in the Bravães Monastery, later being buried in the local cemetery.

Man dies after truck accident in Arcos de Valdevez ravine

According to the MINHO, the 46-year-old man lost his life after an accident with a goods truck last Thursday in Eiras, Arcos de Valdevez municipality.

The truck, which was carrying stone, fell from the Alvideira bridge, from a height of 12 meters, along the EN 101, causing fatal injuries to the driver.

The truck was heading towards Monção-Arcos de Valdevez. The reasons for this tragic accident are unknown.

The site was attended by 31 operations and 11 vehicles of the Arcos de Valdevez firefighters, the INEM and GNR.
