The president of Paredes fears that the pandemic will ruin the game with Benfica
The president of the União de Paredes, of the Portuguese Championship (CP), denounced a “bittersweet” sentiment towards the draw for the Portuguese Football Cup, lamenting the foreseeable absence of public at the reception to Benfica.

The annual budget of União de Paredes is around 170 thousand euros and is one of the “lowest in the Portuguese Championship,” said the leader, confident of being able to play the game at Cidade Desportiva, “home” of the team at CP.
“As you can imagine, the draw took place recently and we haven’t talked about it yet, but we have all the conditions to welcome Benfica to our home,” he said.
Pedro Silva said that it is only necessary to reinforce the lighting in the stadium, if the game takes place at night and is the subject of television broadcasts.
