The Portuguese driver was the fastest in the first of the two free practice sessions this Friday.
The Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) was fastest this Friday in the first of the two free practice sessions of the MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix, which runs until Sunday, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.
The KTM Tech3 rider registered his best lap already in the final moments of the last session of the World Motorcycling Speed Championship, with 1.40.122 minutes, the fastest time ever achieved by a first-class motorcycle on the Algarve circuit .
Oliveira left Spaniard Maverick Viñales (Yamaha) in second place, just 40 thousandths away, and also Spaniard Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) in third place, 114 thousandths.
For this afternoon, the runners have their second free practice session scheduled, starting at 2:00 p.m.
The MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix is the fourteenth and last race of the 2020 World Championship season, which was strongly conditioned by the covid-19 pandemic. Miguel Oliveira arrives on this last day in 10th place in the drivers’ classification, with 100 points.
