The Portuguese driver had started from 12th position. Danilo Petrucci was the winner on a rainy day.

Miguel Oliveira equaled the third best result of the MotoGP season on Sunday, when he finished the French Grand Prix in sixth position, in what was the ninth World Championship, won by Italian Danilo Petrucci (Ducati).

The Portuguese Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider was in contention for a podium position until the end of the race, but, at the last corner, he was overtaken by the Frenchman Johann Zarco, who “stole” fifth place.

Oliveira, who finished 18th at the start of the race, was fourth with two laps remaining, but would lose fifth at the last corner, finishing 4.466sec behind the winner, Petrucci.

With this result, Miguel Oliveira already has 69 points in the World Cup.
