Miguel Oliveira admits “a difficult classification” for the MotoGP GP of Catalunya.

Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) admitted that he had “a difficult qualifying” for the Catalunya Grand Prix, the eighth round of the MotoGP World Championship, in which he will start from 12th position.

The Portuguese driver, who crashed at the start of the last qualifying round, but without any physical consequences, made the best lap after crashing the lap in 1.40.188 minutes, 475 milliseconds of the author of pole position, Italian Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha).

Oliveira had secured, in the morning, direct qualification for the second phase of qualifying, by setting the third best time in the third free practice session.

“This morning we ended up feeling very good, but in the afternoon the conditions changed and I no longer felt so comfortable with the medium tire,” explains the Almada rider.

Miguel Oliveira admitted having lost “a bit of confidence” due to the fall suffered at the start of qualifying, on the first lap launched, which meant “not improving the morning time”.

“I’m a little disappointed, but tomorrow [domingo] We will have a long race, which will be very difficult, so I hope to have a smart race and get as close to the first places as possible ”, concluded the Tech3 rider.

The GP of Catalonia will take place this Sunday from 2:00 p.m. (from Lisbon).
