Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) admitted today that he had “a difficult qualifying” for the Catalan Grand Prix, the eighth round of the MotoGP World Championship, where he will start from 12th position.

Oliveira had secured, in the morning, direct qualification for the second phase of qualifying, by setting the third best time in the third free practice session.

“This morning we ended up feeling very good, but in the afternoon the conditions changed and I no longer felt so comfortable with the medium tire,” explains the Almada rider.

Miguel Oliveira admitted having lost “a bit of confidence” due to the fall suffered at the start of qualifying, on the first lap launched, which meant “not improving the morning time”.

“I’m a little disappointed, but tomorrow [domingo] We will have a long race, which will be very difficult, so I hope to have a smart race and get as close to the first places as possible ”, concluded the Tech3 rider.

The GP of Catalonia will take place this Sunday from 2:00 p.m. (from Lisbon).
