Eddie van Halen, a musician, died of cancer on Tuesday. The information was advanced by the son of the virtuoso guitarist and founder of the band Van Halen.
On social media, Wolf Van Halen wrote that Eddie Van Halen, 65, lost “his long and hard battle with cancer.”
In a heartfelt farewell, the son stressed that Eddie Van Halen was the best father he could have imagined. “Everything I shared with him outside and on stage was a blessing,” Wolf Van Halen continued. “I am heartbroken and I believe that I will never truly recover from this loss,” wrote the son of the historic musician.

In 2012, Eddie Van Halen was honored by Guitar World as the greatest guitarist of all time. In the list of the 100 best guitarists for Rolling Stone, the name of the musician occupies the eighth position.
