Pedro Santana Lopes guarantees that he was not invited by Rui Rio to be a candidate for Lisbon in the next municipal elections, after having dinner on Wednesday night with the leader of the PSD, José Silvano and Maló de Abreu.

Speaking to TSF, Santana Lopes also affirmed that the invitation to dinner was not his initiative or Rui Rio’s initiative, however, he did not advance who combined the match to four.

“This is between us. But it was an initiative of one of the people present. I can say that it did not come from Dr. Rui Rio or from me,” he said.

Regarding an eventual invitation to the municipal elections, the former Social Democratic leader and founder of the Alliance said: “We talked about everything, from presidential, municipal, possible legislature, but not because I was a candidate … We talked about politics as we have spoken during decades. “

He added: “I have no wish. [de ser candidato], especially in the times we live in. We have to go through this difficult stage the world is going through. God forbid that now I’m thinking about campaigns or applications or whatever ”.

Santana Lopes explained that he was not even surveyed by any of the guests. “Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing … The only thing I want to make clear is that I do not want anything, I am not a candidate for anything, I did not ask for anything,” he insisted on emphasizing.
