The ‘Portuguese journey’ to the Eurovisão da Canção Festival began last Saturday, February 20, with the first semifinal of the RTP1 Festival da Canção. “Na Mais Profunda Saudade”, by Valéria, “Love is on My Side”, by The Black Mamba, “Dia Lindo”, by Fábia Maia, and “Contramão”, by Sara Afonso, were the first songs chosen by the audience and by jury – you can review here all the performances of the first semi-final.
This Saturday, February 27, starting at 9:00 p.m., 10 new songs were presented. As in the first semifinal, only five will reach the final of the competition, scheduled for the first Saturday in March.
In the second semifinal Da Chick, Tainá, Ariana, USA CLIDES, Joana Alegre, Pedro Gonçalves, Ana Tereza, Carolina Deslandes, Graciela and NEEV take the stage.

THE FIRST FINALISTS OF THE SONG FESTIVAL
“Na Mais Profunda Saudade”, by Valéria, “Love is on My Side”, by The Black Mamba, “Dia Lindo”, by Fábia Maia, and “Contramão”, by Sara Afonso, will be heard at the festival’s final gala.
Last Saturday, February 20, The Black Mamba were the first to take the stage on RTP, followed by Valéria, mema., Nadine, Miguel Marôco, Fábia Maia and IRMA. Karetus & Romeu Bairos, Sara Afonso and IAN closed the first round of performances.
Karetus & Romeu Bairos’ performance was one of the most praised of the night on social media. On stage, the artist appeared inside a giant illuminated cube and the presentation of the song ended with a choreography starring Caretos de Podence, who used masks with screens.
The performance of IAN was also highlighted, which closed the first round. In addition to the dress with spiky X-rays on the back and SIA-style hair, the artist sported a fake pregnant belly that grew during the performance.
IRMA took a small piano in the form of a book. The remaining competitors opted for simple lighting sets, without stage props.
