The Sporting SAD, in a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), announced a positive financial result of 12.5 million euros in the 2019/2020 season.
A significant contribution to this result was the establishment of a record turnover of 175.5 million euros in the period, which represents an increase of 16% compared to the same period of the previous year, mainly supported by the increase in revenues from the sale of sports rights by players. The names of Raphinha, Thierry Correia, Bas Dost and Bruno Fernandes stand out.
But even without the sale of players, SAD leonina also registered an improvement of 10.6 million euros in year-on-year terms, with a decrease in personnel expenses by about 8.4 million euros compared to the same period of the 2018 season / 2019.
The lions also highlight the reduction of liabilities by 26.2 million euros, which allowed to reach a negative equity of 9.9 million euros, while in June 2019 this amounted to 23.6 million euros negative.
The report will be submitted to the shareholders for their appreciation at the General Meeting scheduled for next Tuesday, September 29, starting at 6 pm, at the Artur Agostinho Auditorium, located in the José Alvalade Stadium.
