The interpreter of “Menina dos Telefonos” (1961) died at the Hospital de Santa María, where she was admitted.
From her full name Maria José Valério Dourado, she was born on May 3, 1933 in Amadora and starred in other hits such as “Olha o Polícia Sinaleiro” and “As Carvoeiras”.
His career began in the 1950s, when he made his debut, at age 17, with the National Broadcaster microphones. In 1954, four years later, he won the radio contest “Os Mais Populares” and was a regular on the television show “Melodias de Semper”.
Born in Amadora, Maria José Valério played several marches in Lisbon, but the one that made her the most famous was that of Sporting CP, a club of which she was a fan and that already reacted on social networks to the news of her death.
