F1: Valtteri Bottas and George Russell’s Social Media Changes Increase Speculation

[ad_1]

The world lives to the rhythm of social networks and news also in motorsports, as is the case with the rumor of the exchange of Valtteri Bottas for George Russell.

Irish journalist Thomas Maher noted that Valtteri Bottas had removed all references to Mercedes from his biography description, and that a similar change had occurred in George Russell’s account, leaving no references to Williams.

We cannot say with certainty if this change actually occurred, the only thing we are sure of is that at the time of writing this text, Bottas Facebook and Twitter accounts keep the link to Mercedes in their description and in Russell’s case only the Facebook account maintains the link to Williams in the description.

We do not believe that this is a reason to increase the speculation around the possible change of drivers. Mercedes recently renewed its contract with Bottas and removing him in this way would be unfair to a driver who perfectly played the role of team player, nor does he comply with the principles that Toto Wolff espouses. Bottas is expected to be a Mercedes driver in 2021 and will have one more season to clear up any doubts that may exist in the minds of those responsible for the silver arrows. Seeing Russell replace Bottas next season would be an even more vivid reminder of how crazy 2020 has been. But logic pushes this scenario away for now.
