Constructora China de Comunicaciones (ACPC) acquired a 23% stake in Mota-Engil for 169.4 million euros, the Portuguese construction company confirmed this Friday in a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

The company led by Gonçalo Moura Martins reported that shareholder Mota Gestão e Participações (MGP) sold 55 million shares to ACPC at a price of 3.08 euros per share.

“The effectiveness of the agreement, however, depends on the verification of several precedent conditions, of a legal nature and
contractual, including the approval or consent of several Public Entities and the
confirmation by the CMVM that the agreement and the operations envisaged in it do not impose on the ACPC the obligation to launch a takeover bid, ”Mota-Engil stated.

The group, which yesterday reported having won three new contracts in Peru for 125 million euros, will call “soon” a general meeting to give the board of directors a “green light” to approve the capital increase, “under the terms and conditions decide for this body in due time ”.
