The Japanese fulfilled the dream that took him to Peru in March.

A Japanese tourist has been stranded in Peru since March due to the covid-19 pandemic, but now, seven months later, he has finally realized his dream of visiting Machu Picchu.

The Peruvian Minister of Culture has granted him special authorization to access the site, which is closed to the public and is only expected to ‘open doors’ next month.

The Japanese tourist Jesse Katayama arrived in Peru in March to fulfill his dream of visiting the ruins of the ancient Inca civilization, but the pandemic caused the prohibition of Machu Picchu, one of the most visited places in the world.

However, months after the closure, the Japanese submitted a special request to the Ministry of Culture, which was accepted.

Jesse Katayama fulfilled his dream of visiting Machu Picchu last Saturday, and it had a more special flavor, since he was the only tourist in the place.

“This is wonderful, thank you very much,” he said in a video recorded on the spot.
