Central sold for 68 million euros to the English club, plus 3.6 million euros for goals
Benfica made official the transfer of Rúben Dias to Manchester City for 68 million euros, plus 3.6 million euros for goals related to the “sporting performance” of the English club. It is the second biggest sale in the history of the red club, only surpassed by João Félix (126 M €).
The Eagles add that “said agreement depends on the signing of the player’s sports employment contract with Manchester City.” In another statement, the eagles too confirmed the hiring of Otamendi.
Benfica statement:
“Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD informs, in the terms and for the purposes of the provisions of article 248-A of the Portuguese Securities Code, that it has reached an agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of all the rights of the player Rúben Dias, for € 68,000,000 (sixty-eight million euros), plus an additional amount of € 3,600,000 (three million six hundred thousand euros), depending on the achievement of objectives related to the sports performance of Manchester City .
It is also reported that said agreement depends on the signing of the player’s sports employment contract with Manchester City.
