UEFA published the list of finalists for the awards for the best players of the year in European competitions and outside of it were Cristiano Ronaldo (tenth place) and Lionel Messi (fourth), names like Mbappé (seventh) and Neymar (4th) too was excluded. Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) and Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) will discuss the distinction between them; in women’s football, Lucy Bronze (Lyon), Wendie Renard (Lyon) and Pernille Harder (Wolfsburg) are chosen.
The only Portuguese who can be awarded is Bruno Fernandes, who is among the finalists for the best footballer in action in the Europa League.
It should be noted that these lists are drawn up after the vote of a jury of 80 club coaches who competed in the group stage of the Champions League and Europa League, as well as 55 journalists appointed by European Sports Media.
