The Serbian tennis player was disqualified from the US Open after hitting a linesman with a ball.
Novak Djokovic, first seed and number 1 in the world, was disqualified from the United States Open this Sunday, when he hit a linesman with a ball, in the match with the Spanish Pablo Carreño-Busta.
At one point in the round of 16 match in which he lost 6-5 in the first set, Djokovic apparently unintentionally threw the ball at a linesman, who fell and was momentarily injured.
The referee team was then speaking in the middle of the court and decided to disqualify the Serbian, who was chasing a fourth title at the US Open, following victories in 2011, 2015 and 2018, and an 18th at the Grand Slam.
