Braga set Friday at 4:00 p.m. as the deadline to receive the money from the transfer of Rúben Amorim and threatened the courts, prompting further talks between the parties.

Half a year later, Sporting still does not pay for the transfer of Rúben Amorim, rescued from Braga for the amount of the termination clause: ten million euros. The Arsenal club gave the lions until 4 pm on Friday to pay the debt, as stipulated in a letter sent to Alvalade in August, and reached the end of the day with no money in the account from Sporting.

However, and faced with the threat of taking the case to court, as Braga had promised, talks were held between the parties on Friday to find a new platform for understanding.

The new information on the situation is the existence of contacts between the clubs, although this does not constitute, at the moment, an understanding to resolve the dispute. Braga remains inflexible in the defense of its interests and wants, as soon as possible, to receive the money corresponding to the coach’s departure. The threat of going to court will be taken if there is no new agreement between the emblems.

The Minho club understands that Sporting’s debt amounts to 11.8 million (11753138.88 euros, exact amount), since there were defaults in the previously stipulated payment (two tranches of five million euros, the first of which in March ). The lions then framed the debt default with the covid-19 pandemic, claiming they attempted to renegotiate the amount owed. The Minho people also refer to the existence of interest due until payment of the debt and penalties for late payment. It remains to be seen now if the clubs will even make a new deal, something that had not been reached as of Friday night.
