We are on the eve of the start of next season and, despite the uncertain times that we are still living in, I want to leave a word of confidence to all the Benfica fans.
A confidence based on a renewed ambition that led us to hire a new technical team of recognized quality, led by the technician with the most titles in the history of Sport Lisboa e Benfica and the ability to go on the market to hire highly prestigious international players.
It is in these moments of crisis when the most robust and consistent entities tend to make their best investments.
And that is exactly what we have been doing. Take advantage of this time of crisis to, based on a leveling down below market values, gain access to talent that would otherwise be out of the question for us.
But even more decisive is the credibility factor. As I have said, credibility is one of our main achievements. And only the solid and recognized credibility that we have in the market allows us to reinforce the workforce with an efficient and rational management of their effort, diluted in several years.
As fundamental, it has also been the unanimous recognition of the quality of the project and the infrastructures that we have created – well attested in the testimonies of all the coaches and players who have been in this house – and that allows us to attract some of the best talents, despite being outside of them. five major European leagues.
We saw a decade with sporting results in football only surpassed by the sixties, we saw our Club again in two European finals in senior and three in junior, following a strategy and direction of betting on the Seixal training center, which is to set an example on an international level.
We had the best decade of sports victories.
Today we have the necessary bases to redefine some priorities and seek to go further and in a more ambitious way towards some objectives.
As always and from the first hour, that alone has been my focus, working for Benfica. And at this time, more than ever before in the uncertain times we are living, defend the Club and reinforce its pillars with an eye toward an even more winning future.
Even without knowing when we will be able to express the passion of the presence in the Estádio da Luz, in the stadiums and pavilions, we carry in us the ambition, the faith and the feeling that “Of all, one. Benfica”.
In each one, that unique force of feeling and shouting “Benfica!”
