The 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S came with many superlatives at launch. It had the largest increase in horsepower from its predecessor, representing an increase of 60 horsepower (45 kilowatts) and 37 pound-feet (50 Newton meters) compared to the 991.2 generation 911 Turbo S.
On top of that, the new 911 Turbo S is the fastest, recording a time of zero to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) of just 2.6 seconds. With these numbers, the flagship 911 maintains its reputation as a supercar killer, outperforming its segment. But can you beat a McLaren 720S in an endurance race?

Carwow must be wondering the same thing, so you have put up a showdown that many of you (we think) have been waiting for. But before we watch the video, let’s first compare the numbers for a quick snapshot of the rivalry in black and white.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine that generates 640 hp (447 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. All of these figures are sent to all four wheels, totaling 3,638 pounds (1,650 kilograms) in weight.
On the other hand, the McLaren 720S has a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine behind the seats, making 720 metric horsepower for 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of turns. Yes, it does have some downsides compared to the Porsche in terms of performance, but remember that the 720S weighs less than 3,131 pounds (1,420 kg).
Now, you have seen the numbers, which one do you think won the previous race? We have seen the 911 Turbo S work slower than the 720S for a second at the Sachsenring in Germany, but can it beat the British supercar in a straight line? Watch the video at the top.
And, oh, this is also a record race for one of these cars, at least for this YouTube channel.
