Poppy’s chocolate bagnet
Popeye Louisiana’s Kitchen
Popeyez Louisiana’s Kitchen is adding chocolate bignets to its menu across the country to attract customers to its restaurants during the holiday season.
The item is part of Fried Chicken Chain’s comprehensive menu strategy, owned by Restaurant Brands International, which uses sweets more regularly to attract customers. The only permanent dessert on its menu is the cinnamon apple pie, but the poppies also sell limited time dessert opportunities, which are sometimes only regionally available.
Starting Monday, the bagnets, which are deep-fried pastries filled with Popeye Hershey’s chocolate, are available for a limited time in three, six and 12-packs. Desert is the famous headquarters of New Reliance, where the Pope was founded, although the chain is now headquartered in Miami.
According to Sami Siddiqui, president of the US Popes, the Popes tested the new item in October for “particularly strong” consumer reviews in Boston and several other northeastern markets.
But he said he’s unlikely to surpass the success of his chicken sandwich, which was added to the menu nationwide more than a year ago. Even during the Popeye coronavirus epidemic, single-store sales have increased every quarter since the start of the sandwich.
“I went inside [the fast-food industry] “For almost a decade, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like a chicken sandwich in any brand, so I don’t know if I have to set expectations,” Siddiqui said.
Shares of restaurant brands with a market value of .9 27.9 billion have fallen 5% so far this year. The legguard of the company’s portfolio, Tim Hortons, is struggling to bring back coffee drinkers following the coronavirus epidemic.
