Protesters marched in Rochester, NY, on Thursday night, as many did not move forward due to the city mayor’s recent decision to suspend seven police officers involved in the suffocating death of Daniel Prude.
A black man named Prud (Pr1) died when he was stripped of life support from March. Just seven days ago, he was put in a “spit hood” during an encounter with Rochester police – after he ran – naked on the street. He was held by police for about two minutes until he stopped breathing.
The medical examiner pronounced his death as “breathing complications in the adjustment of physical restraint”. Fenaciclidin or PCP were listed as contributing factors to delirium and acute intoxication.
