Pokemon Journeys: The Series He’s seen Ash Ketchum capture an amazing line so far, but his new capture has to be one of the most amazing so far! In the last episode of the series, Ash and Goh return to the Galar region to see an official battle between two coaches in the Master Class, Raihan and Leon. After this battle, Goh tries to catch more Galarian Pokémon before returning to Kanto. But as the two prepare to cross a bridge, he is being blocked by a Galarian Farfetch’d.
This Farfetch’d has been challenging wandering trainers, and therefore Goh tries to catch him and fails. Ash, sensing his need for battle, challenges him with Riolu. The two Pokémon have a fierce battle that ultimately ends with the defeat of Galarian Farfetch’d. After taking him to a nearby Pokémon Center, Ash offers to take Farfetch’d with him as part of his team.
Galarian Farfetch’d agrees, and now Ash Ketchum has officially added a new Pokemon to his team! This is the first Pokémon in its current lineup that has any link to the current one. Pokemon Sword and Shield games. It’s an older Pokemon from the Kanto region, sure, but this technically counts as its first real Galarian catch this season!
I honestly didn’t expect Ash to catch a Farfetch’d but it works pic.twitter.com/13oW79zsRw

This is also surprising because it’s only a few episodes after Riolu hatches from an egg, and not even 30 episodes in the newest season. Apparently he also came out of nowhere when he and Goh bumped into him, making the capture seem even more sudden. But that’s also what makes this particular capture so exciting! The Ash Ketchum team has been one true surprise after another, and there is a kind of healthy rhythm that sparks an Ash that will not be limited to a few this season! But what do you think?
Were you surprised to see Ash Ketchum catch a Galarian Farfetch’d? Did you expect Ash to add a new member to his team as soon after Riolu? Did you expect Farfetch to be Ash’s first Galarian Pokémon? What do you think of the Ash Ketchum lineup at Pokemon Journeys: The Series up to this point?
