NASCAR initial formation for Saturday at Pocono Raceway
This weekend, the NASCAR Cup is scheduled to host consecutive events on Saturday and Sunday. The starting grid for Pocono’s Saturday event was established.

Pocono Raceway is a 2.5 mile triangle in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Fans are not allowed this weekend.
There are no grading or practice sessions this weekend. The teams will see the first turn for the first time on lap one of the race.
Saturday Pocono Organics 325 for the NASCAR Cup is 130 laps. Teams may only use one car for the event on Saturday and Sunday.
The starting lineup for Saturday’s event has already been established. Aric Almirola will start from pole position with Ryan Blaney completing the front row.
How officials set the starting grid
The field has been established through a random drawing by NASCAR officials.
-1-12: Random draw of charter teams that occupy those positions in owner points.
-13-24: Random draw of charter teams that occupy those positions in owner points.
-25-36: Random draw of charter teams that occupy those positions in owner points.
-37-40: Open teams in owner points order (no tie).
