A Plymouth woman accused of shooting two children on Friday night will be handed over on Monday.
A 15-year-old Terryville high school student has died in the shooting and his 7-year-old younger sister is in critical condition.
Naomi Bell, 43, of Terryville, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting, state police said.
The crew was called to a home on North Main Street in the Terryville section of Plymouth around 7 p.m., Connecticut State Police said.
Investigators said Belle shot two children inside the home. Officials did not say how Bell and the children knew each other.
One of the children was later pronounced dead, according to state police. They added that the condition of the second child at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center was serious.
On Saturday, district officials at Plymouth School said the child who died was a student at Terryville High School and the seriously injured child is a student at Harry S. Fisher Elementary School.
A third brother, a student at Ally Terry Junior Middle School, was not at home at the time of the shooting, according to the school district.
The Connecticut State Police said serious injuries were reported after the incident in the Terryville section of Plymouth.
“I’m in shock. It’s not real to me yet,” said Taylor Wells of Plymouth.
Wells lives right next door. He said he did not hear the shooting and was in disbelief when two ambulances arrived. Wells said he knows Bell accidentally and is confused about what happened.
“It was great. I’m having trouble believing,” Wells said.
Bell faces charges including murder and attempted murder. He is currently in custody in lieu of a 2, 2,500,000 bond.
The Connecticut State Police West District Major Crime Department is investigating.
