With a promise so far, Michigan basketball can take its time to fill the remaining scholarships with long-term prospects. Here is a prediction of what the 2021 class will look like.
Recruiting the right talent for your team takes time, preparation, patience, and a host of other things a coach must possess to attract the winning team. Juwan Howard has all of that en masse. As a result of Howard’s recruiting prowess, Michigan basketball brought together many top recruits from the 2020 class, and the 2021 cycle is shaping up in the same way.
Isaiah Barnes may be the only engagement so far, but Juwan and company are not taking a break because they have a man. There are three more seats to fill, and the Wolverines are turning their attention to some talented high school kids.
Which will join Barnes? I make my predictions here:
Angelo Brizzi
There is the NBA rank, and then there is the Steph Curry rank. Angelo Brizzi has a Steph Curry range, can jump on a striker by a slam dunk and hand it over to a teammate without his opponent realizing he no longer has the ball.
While the video above may be a featured reel and not a full game, it contains everything you need to know about Angelo Brizzi.
During his third year, Angelo averaged 20.3 points, 6.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game and is the prototypical scoring guard Juwan has been recruiting with both prospects and transfers.
Brizzi is a three-star (for now) according to 247 sports, ranked 128th nationally, the 19th best PG and fourth in Virginia. Rivals has him at 116 overall and the 21st best point guard.
