Player Ratings: Sassuolo 1-2 AC Milan

AC Milan scored all three points at Sassuolo tonight thanks to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic brace. In other words, the Rossoneri continued their good form and below are the player ratings.

STARTING XI

Donnarumma (6.5): He made his 200th appearance for the club tonight and, of course, he didn’t have much to do except Sassuolo’s penalty goal. He was also very good with his feet, and continued to improve his pace.

Conti (N / A): He was forced to leave the field after just ten minutes due to injury, so there really is nothing to rate. Davide Calabria came in to replace him.

Kjaer (7): Dominant performance at the back once again. He was given more responsibility when Alessio Romagnoli left the field with an injury in the first half. He matched well with Matteo Gabbia to avoid giving in.

Romagnoli (N / A): As mentioned, they took him away when he apparently pulled a calf muscle. Hopefully nothing is too serious since the Rossoneri will face Atalanta in the next game.

Hernández (6): Decent French performance, but he certainly didn’t stand out and was cautioned for a silly foul. He was withdrawn at half time due to his yellow card, which means he will lose the game against Atalanta.

Kessie (7.5): Another very good performance by the Ivorian, taking full advantage of his qualities in both phases of the game. He had a lot of energy and used his strength to give Milan an advantage in the middle.

Bennacer (7): Like his partner, the Algerian continued his good form while directing the work. However, he was booked for a silly foul, meaning the Atalanta clash will be missed, hence the qualification. Hit the post before they pulled it out late.

Saelemaekers (7): He continued to work hard on the right flank and was rewarded multiple times. He still needs to improve his technique, but his pace of work is proving decisive for the Rossoneri.

Calhanoglu (8): The Turkish international has been on fire since the restart. He added two other assists to his name tonight and he played very well overall. The link with Zlatan Ibrahimovic is certainly pleasant to watch.

Rebic (7): He had a few opportunities where perhaps he could have done better, but he was instrumental in the second goal as he made a fantastic run to open the gap for Ibrahimovic. I also avoided a yellow card (suspension), which is important.

Ibrahimovic (8.5 – MOTM): No matter what you think of his performances in the past few weeks, he was fantastic tonight. It continued to go down occasionally, but was also present in the box when necessary. Two very good goals too, especially the second in which he rounded up the goalkeeper.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Calabria (7): Solid screen on the right side, which managed to take advantage of its objective since the last time with many positive signs. Calm on the ball and also did well in one-on-one situations.

Gabbia (6.5): Nothing spectacular about the young man, but it must be said that he did well to replace Romagnoli. It’s a tough role to play, but he kept opponents away and did well with both of his feet in the pass as well.

Laxalt (6): Not bad at all, it would certainly be correct to expect something worse considering the previous screens. He got the ball back on a few occasions, but it must be said that it really wasn’t tested, and he took the easy way out many times.

Biglia: N / A

Buenaventura: N / A
