Each Google Pixel device comes preloaded with a collection of fun live wallpapers, and the recently launched Pixel 4a comes with an exclusive wallpaper named “Eclipse.”
Available in the Google Wallpapers app, “Eclipse” is a fairly simple and straightforward live wallpaper. The wallpaper is blue (purple if you use dark mode, via Droid life) and turn the color off when your battery is low.
Seen above and below, my battery is about 50%, leaving only part of the screen colored. At the beginning of the day with a full charge, the black part of the wallpaper is considerably smaller. It’s a clean, subtle effect reminiscent of “Horizon” from the original Pixel, which adjusts its appearance in the same way based on your battery life.
It is quite possible that this wallpaper could also appear on Google’s other two Pixel releases later this year, but for now it is only on Pixel 4a. Pixel 4a also comes with another collection of still wallpapers that are … playful.
