Photos show the consequences of the accident that killed CBS reporter Nina Kapur

A witness captured the aftermath of the Revel moped accident that killed CBS New York reporter Nina Kapur in Brooklyn over the weekend.

The photos, captured by passer-by Dennis Flores, show EMS firefighters and workers tying up a woman on a stretcher on Franklin Street near India Street in Greenpoint.

The scooter is shown resting on its side in the crosswalk.

Kapur, 26, of Newton, Pennsylvania, was a passenger on the 2020 trip, led by a 26-year-old man who suddenly strayed around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Police sources say the driver told authorities that he believed a car was pulling out of a location and that he was trying to avoid it.

Both Kapur and the driver fell on the road, police said. They also were not wearing helmets, according to sources. Both were transferred to Bellevue Hospital, where Kapur was pronounced dead.

The driver, whose relationship with Kapur was not immediately known, suffered minor injuries, according to police sources.

Four days before the fatal accident, Kapur tweeted to Revel for help.

“Hello, I have been trying to contact the revel helpdesk for an hour and a half,” he wrote. “Can someone help me?”

A Revel representative responded and asked him to send a direct message about his problem.

About 12 hours before the accident that involved Kapur on Saturday, a 31-year-old man was seriously injured after an apparent accident with his Revel scooter in Queens, police said.

It was unclear if the man fell off the scooter or was hit by a fleeing vehicle, police said.
