WWE did a test run with fans to test the ThunderDome setup ahead of tomorrow night’s live SmackDown broadcast.
As mentioned earlier, 1,000 fans will be part of the virtual experience when the ThunderDome debuts, and, as you can see in the photos posted below, this certainly seems like a massive upgrade to their performances from the Performance Center.
WWE will use piped-in crowd noise, similar to what they have done in the past for applied shows. Uploading public sounds is not new, as they have been doing so since the 1980s, dating back to the days of WWF Superstars and Wrestling Challenge. However, the virtual fan experience is something completely new to WWE. It looks like they took what the NBA does and have made it 100 times better.
WWE’s Kevin Dunn has hyped the ThunderDome production as better than WrestleMania. That turns out to be the case, based on the photos posted. It will be interesting to see how fans who watch at home feel about the production upgrades tomorrow night.
WWE will continue to apply for shows at Amway Center at least until the end of October.

That means if this idea falls apart or gets too old according to Vince, we can bring back 1 vs 100 @bobsaget? #ThunderDome pic.twitter.com/dicxwz6WlG
