It was quite a heavenly spectacle of the early morning when a rare thunder went through the bay area. Take a look at the glowing photos and videos that the public made and posted on Twitter.
The warning of the red flag of the weather service, in effect until 11 a.m. for the San Francisco Bay Area, cited “wildfire increase near lightning due to lightning”, as well as a risk of rapid spread due to dry fuel and wind on the coast.
After the storms are over, the forecast calls for sunny and hot weather, with highs in the mid-1990s in San Jose and at 80 in San Francisco.
A secondary pulse of moisture and instability was expected from late Sunday until early Monday, the weather service said.
