Philadelphia violence over the weekend left 4 dead, 15 injured

Philadelphia police say a result of 20 shootings over the weekend left four people dead and 15 others injured, according to a report.

Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw showed up Sunday at one of the shooting locations and called the gun violence “disturbing” and “disappointing,” Fox 29 reported in Philadelphia.

She was at the scene where five people were shot and injured when attending a large block party. Three of the victims were teenagers, the station reported.

“We are doing everything we can to make sure we resolve these issues quickly so that we can hopefully move forward on anything that may happen as a result of this,” Outlaw said, according to the station.

The blockade turned out to be a wild scene for the shooting with a crowd of more than 200 people on hand, CBS 3 Philadelphia reported.

Residents told the station that the block party was being held to commemorate a person who died of gunshot wounds a few years ago. They said the problems started when individuals got on motorcycles and broke people open.
