PG&E interactive map tells if you lose power during rotating outages in California

FRESNO, Caliph. (KFSN) – There is now a way to check if your home is affected by the possible rolling power outages, say PG&E officials.

As a record-breaking heat wave sweeps through California, the state Independent System Operator (ISO) has issued a Flex Alert to the state encouraging customers to maintain energy consumption from 3pm to 10pm. via Wednesday.

The utility said the rolling outages are likely to continue on Tuesday afternoon and evening. They have provided an interactive map for customers to use to track the outages.

PG&E customers can enter their address here to determine if their home will be affected.

Power management is necessary due to an increase in demand, primarily more air conditioning and other equipment in use to keep cool.

The Flex Alert stays in effect as the sun sets, as solar energy production decreases even when the heat stays in the evening.

The possible rotating power failure is as follows:

  • Block numbers 1K – 1R could lose power at 4 o’clock
  • Block numbers 1S – 2C could lose power at 5 p.m.
  • Block numbers 2D – 3C could lose power at 6 o’clock
  • Block Numbers 3D – 4P could lose power in 7 hours
  • Block numbers 4Q – 6E could lose power at 20 o’clock
  • Block numbers 6F – 7H could lose power at 9 p.m.
  • Block numbers 7I – 7O could lose power at 10 o’clock
  • Block number 50 is not subject to rolling failures.
