It’s one of the highlights of the summer – the Perseide meteor shower is expected to peak next week.
Paid as the most active meteor shower of the year, it is intended to peak the nights of August 11 and August 12 in 2020.
The National Water Service says the moon makes it difficult to see some of the meteors, but the best view will be in a dark sky away from the rays, or where the meteors seem to be coming from. For this shower is the radiant in the constellation of Perseus, which is also where the annual event gets its name.
You can also try to search for meteors before the moon rises or after it sets in your location. You can try handy tools here to see what time is best for stargazing!
Experts have also suggested that you adjust your eyes for about 20 minutes when looking at the dark sky – you are more likely to get a glimpse of the fast-moving meteors.
If you miss the highlight, do not fret. The Perseids are on view until August 26, so you still have time to get a kick out of the show.
