Pence and DeVos visited the Thales Academy in the state of North Carolina to meet with students and organize a roundtable with the school’s faculty. The private school reopened with in-person learning earlier this month.

Pence removed the mask during part of the session with the students, while DeVos was not seen wearing a mask in the classroom.

Public schools across the state of Tarheel will reopen on August 17, although many students will continue to learn remotely.
