Second Chamber Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she felt that Joe Biden did not need to debate President Donald Trump because Trump “is likely to act in a way that is below the dignity of the presidency” because “he did all that days does. “

“Do not tell anyone I told you this – especially do not tell Joe Biden,” Pelosi told reporters at her weekly press conference on Thursday. “I do not think there should be debates. I do not think the President of the United States has behaved in a way that has any association with truth, evidence, data and facts.”

“I would not legitimize a conversation with him, nor a debate in terms of the presidency of the United States,” Pelosi said. “I think he’s also going to mine what the debates are about. And they should not be about guilt on the part of someone who has no respect for the office he holds.”

The Democratic leader of the House and the President have long been engaged in verbal attacks and snubbed each other. Perhaps most of all, Trump ignored her handshake at his State of the Union this year and Pelosi slammed his speech after he finished. They have reportedly not spoken directly for the past 10 months.

Pelosi acknowledged that the Biden campaign “thinks differently” about participating in the debates.

Biden even claimed that point Thursday soon.

“I will debate him,” the former vice president said. “I will be a fact check on the floor while I debate it.”

The 2020 candidates plan to appear at three presidential debates, with the first scheduled for September 29. The remaining two are set for October 15 and October 22. Each debate will last 90 minutes.
