Bethlehem, Pa. – Pips feasts have been going on for months – another consequence of the coronavirus epidemic.
Pastline, PenLive.com reports that popular marshmallow desserts will not be produced for Halloween, Christmas or Valentine’s Day as Bestleham, a Pennsylvania-based company is preparing for next Easter.
Production of holiday-shaped candy was suspended in the spring as the coronavirus spread across the state. Limited production resumed in mid-May with a protocol for employee safety, Just Bourne said.
“As a result of this situation we had to make the difficult decision to stop production of our seasonal candies for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day to focus on meeting the expected high demand for peeps for the coming Easter season as well as our everyday candies,” the company said.
For confectioners, Easter is the biggest and busiest time of the year as children – and adults – use the holiday as an excuse for candy eggs and chocolate rabbits.
Just Bourne, who has been in business since 1923, said Halloween 2021 is expected to return to its other seasonal confectionery store shelves.
