Sources told ESPN that San Diego Prestige acquired catcher Austin Nola from the Seattle Miners on Sunday as part of a seven-player deal.
Part of Seattle’s return is one of San Diego’s top prospects, outfielder Taylor Trammal. Other players in the Mariners’ range include infielder Tie France, catcher Louis Torrance and right-handed relief pitcher Andres Munoz.
Sources said Austin Stein Adams and Dan Altavilla are the relievers in Pedres. Adams, a long-time right-hander who scored 511 runs in 1 innings last year, is recovering from ACL surgery but will return soon and should be a great addition to San Diego with recently acquired Trevor Rosenthal.
Nola is hitting .306 this season for Silatal, with 5 home runs and 19 RBIs in 29 games as the team’s primary backstop. Last season, he batted .269 in 79 games with 10 homers and 31 RBIs.
Trammel was traded by Cincinnati last season in a three-way trade with the Cleveland Indians with Pedres.
Trammell is ranked No. 5 by Pedres and the MLB’s overall 75th rating by ESPN’s Kille McDaniel.
He hit .234 in 106 double-A games last season with 10 home runs, 43 RBIs and 20 stolen bases.
Nola Philadelphia Phillies is the older brother of right-handed starter Aaron Nola.
Pedres currently has the second-highest number of wins in the National League (21), second only to division rival Los Angeles (26). They want to end the 2006 playoff drought.
San Diego is busy with the ET trading deadline approaching at 4 p.m. Those measures came on their heels rather than a big flood in their trade for Rosenthal in Kansas City on Saturday.
