Following the exit of Islam Makhachev, Paul Felder has agreed to face Rafael Dos Anjos in the main event of the five rounds this Saturday night at UFC Vegas 14.
After an initial report of no, UFC officials confirmed the matchup of the MMA Fighting ESPN.
The fielder accepted the fight with just five days’ notice after Makhechev was forced to withdraw from the friction of the main event in Las Vegas.
After earlier hints to Dan Hooker on a previous outing about the possibility of a possible retirement after the loss of the razor-close split decision, Felder chose to move on with his career, but was not registered after that fight in February. Overall, Federer is leading 2-1 in his last three fights, including wins over Edson Barboza and James Vic.
Lately, Fielder has been the mainstay of broadcasts working as a UFC color critic and analyst, but for now, he will be able to return to the octagon to face the former lightweight champion.
Dos Anjos has returned to 5 155 after leaving the division to run a fight at Welterweight for the past few years. The Brazilian won the lightweight title in 2015.
The UFC Vegas 14 card will go down at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
