New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick expressed his displeasure with his team’s performance during Monday night’s 38-9 defeat to former AFC rivals Buffalo Bill in the Night Football.
On the first play of the second half, the Bills tight end DK Sun Knox grabbed a nice sideline that was challenged by Belichick. The catch was not reversed, causing the future Hall of Fame coach to break the phone in frustration.
Belichick was talking to someone on his staff who might have advised him to challenge the play, and with that he was spitting the phone.

ESPN Broadcast caught Belichick in action, and of course, it went viral.

This is not the first time Belichick has broken any part of the technology. In 2016, he threw out a Microsoft tablet, which was used by coaches to review plays.
During a postgame press conference on Monday night, a reporter asked Belichick about the challenge.

“Obviously he made a catch. It was a good catch,” Belichick said. “I mean it was a good call. It was a good catch. And the challenge was clearly not successful, as it shouldn’t be.”
The Patriots, who are without future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady in their first year, will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
In Sunday’s final game of the season, Belichick will be out with his former employers, the New York Jets – a team he left in the dust to become New England’s head coach. The Jets are 2-13 in the season but won two straight games on Nov. 9 in New Jersey and almost beat Pat.
