According to the Sudbury Police Department, at least 50 high school students attended a party held in the basement of a private residence in Sudbury, Medachusets, on Friday evening – with complete disregard for social distance and mask guidelines, according to the Sudbury Police Department.
Due to the party, Lincoln-Sudbury Region High School has been delayed in getting an individual education, the city’s health board said.
“There are no positive cases involving these students at the time of publication. Due to the lack of information about who participated in the program and the inability to communicate directly with those students, the risk to the school community cannot be adequately assessed.” Sudbury Health Health said in a news release.
The health board said police notified the board that the party involved about 50-60 Lincoln-Sudbury students. According to the health board, it is unknown if students from other cities were present and many students fled or gave false information to the police.
CNN Arrived at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School for comment, but not heard back. The Health Board, in a statement, advises anyone participating in both the health board and the school to receive the Covid test.
Sudbury Police Department spokesman Jordan Mabel said the parents and their child have not been identified because they have not been arrested and the incident is still under investigation.
Police Chief Scott Nix said in the release that police are “encouraging residents to avoid making more volatile statements about the incident on social media because we are holding responsible people to provide the venue.”
The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office told CNN that an arrangement has not yet been determined for parents and teens.
Police said in a statement that when they arrived, officers noticed “numerous individuals fleeing the scene” and contained containers of alcohol in the back yard.
“Numerous teenagers and open containers were found throughout the house, including in the basement, where a large group of youths disregarding the state’s mandatory social distance and face-covering protocol was gathering,” the police statement said. “Some of those present at the party also made threatening remarks against the officers who responded.”
