Packers sign Kenny Clark to four-year, $ 70 million expansion

The Green Bay Packers have signed Kenny Clark to a four-year, $ 70 million expansion that will make him the highest paid nose pack in NFL history, according to his agent, Doug Hendrickson.

The deal, which makes Clark the 12th highest paid defensive player in the NFL, includes a $ 25 million sign-up bonus and runs through the 2024 season, Hendrickson said. Clark will make $ 37 million in the first two years of the deal, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Packers announced the extension, but did not include any contract terms.

The pickers of the first round in 2016, Clark took over Mike Daniels as the dominant interior change of the team. He has six sacks in each of his past two seasons and earned a Pro Bowl berth in 2019.

Overall, he has 16.5 sacks, 193 tackles and four forced fumbles (and repairs) in four NFL seasons.

Now that the Packers have reached a long-term contract with Clark, they can begin to make decisions about all other notable players with contracts set to expire in 2021. This list includes Pro Bowl defensive tackle David Bakhtiari, running backs Jones Jones and Jamaal Williams, cornerback Kevin King, center Corey Linsley, and guard Lane Taylor.

In addition, kicker Mason Crosby has been activated from the reserve / COVID-19 list and was present at Saturday’s practice.

The Packers also denied wide receiver Travis Fulgham waivers of Detroit Lions exemptions. Fulgham had zero catches while appearing in three games for the Lions last year.
