Packers plan for fans at Lambeau Field includes mandatory skins

As the NFL works to finalize its policies and procedures with players for training camp and the 2020 season, the teams have begun informing fans about upcoming changes for season ticket holders.

The Green Bay Packers announced Friday that they are preparing for fans to attend, but noted that capacity would be reduced, social distancing would be practiced, and the team would require facial coverage for all attendees.

“Right now, the team is preparing for fans to assist with new policies and security measures to allow for appropriate social distancing, which will require the stadium’s seating capacity to be significantly reduced,” the announcement said. “Facial covers will also be required, and other necessary precautions will be taken. As a result, the special experience that fans are used to at Lambeau Field will look and feel very different.”

The team acknowledged the possibility that Lambeau Field might not host fans, but noted that it remains “optimistic.”

It is the first time this offseason that a team has noticed that covering your face may be a must for fans in the stands. In September, state governments may make the decision out of the club’s hands that requires the use of face masks or masks during sporting events.

Packers President Mark Murphy added that season ticket holders will be asked in a questionnaire if they want to “opt out” of being included in the process to book tickets for this season. If a season ticket holder decides to “opt out,” he would have the option of a 2020 refund or payment credit by 2021, just like most teams are currently doing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. .

“The Packers plan to make the necessary adjustments to conduct games and other events in the safest manner possible for the best interest of fans, players and team and league personnel,” the press release concluded. “All preparations are made with the latest advice from medical and public health officials and are subject to change.”
