The traditional Lambeau Leap won’t happen this year, but the Packers hope they can have some fans for their home games this season.
Packers President Mark Murphy expects a maximum of 15 percent of the 81,441-seat stadium to be occupied.
“In terms of the number of fans, it will be very small,” Murphy said through TheAthletic.com. “Initial estimates are likely to be between 10,000 and 12,000 seats.”
The Packers emailed a questionnaire to season ticket holders today asking them whether or not they want to opt for the 2020 season while retaining their rights to 2021. Fans can either be reimbursed for their 2020 payment or can apply the money to the season 2021.
Season ticket holders opted will have access to the exclusive presale opportunity for the ability to purchase tickets to a game if fans are allowed.
“It’s going to be challenging enough just to play and keep our players healthy, our coaches, our staff,” said Murphy. “And then you add bringing fans into the equation. So let’s see it, maybe for quarters [of the season] or match by match, in terms of determining whether and how many fans to have at the stadium. “
