Two Oxford scientists have denounced Facebook, claiming that the company is engaged in anti-democratic censorship by flagging their articles on “false information” wearing masks.
Professor Carl Heineghan And Drs. Tom Jefferson “The landmark Danish study show Face Mask has no significant influence,” wrote a paper. The article was based on a study they did in Denmark in which 6,000 devotees were divided into 2 groups – half wearing masks outside their homes and half not wearing masks. According to the study, the infection rate for mask wearers was 1.8%. The rate was 2.1% for those who did not wear masks.
The study found the results to be inconclusive, but 2 Oxford doctors went on to say, “… it seems that the effect of a mask on the spread of the disease in the community is small.” That was enough for Facebook to take action and make a call to BS, warning the article and adding that it was “checked by independent fact-checkers.”
“I know this is happening to others – what has happened to educational freedom and freedom of speech. There is nothing in this article that is ‘wrong,'” Professor Henekha said of the rally on Facebook.
Dr. Je. “It’s censorship and that’s one of the reasons we’re experiencing the global recession of free thought and science,” Jefferson told the Daily Mail.
On the scientific front, the study does not take into account the indisputable fact … that the mask reduces the spread of covid-laced drops and it is common sense … it is difficult to wear a mask if infected. The drops escape into the air.
That said, on the subject of censorship, this is exactly what critics are screaming at, but few people have cared to listen … Facebook is being put at risk for accessing the information we receive. He assumes that Facebook can tell us what to think about everything from auto repair to cancer … at least, that’s what those critics take for granted.
